Can't-Wait Wednesday: Fragile Like Us - Sara Barnard

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I can't wait for Fragile Like Us!

Fragile Like Us
Sara Barnard
Series: n/a
Release Date: May 22, 2018
Publisher: Simon Pulse
Waited on by: Sam
A pitch perfect novel about friendship and what it takes to break the bonds between friends, “for fans of Morgan Matson and Sarah Dessen” (VOYA).

Caddy and Rosie have always been inseparable. But that was before Suzanne. Now the twosome has become a triangle with constantly shifting alliances.

Caddy’s ready to be more than just the quiet one. She wants something to happen. Suzanne is trying to escape her past and be someone different, someone free. But sometimes downward spirals have a momentum of their own. And no one can break your heart like a best friend.
I read my first Sara Barnard book, A Quiet Kind of Thunder, at the end of last year, and I absolutely loved it! She knows how to write a story that tugs at the heartstrings and is filled with so many fabulous characters, who I could not help but love. I am hoping for more the same from her new release, Fragile Like Us. This is story that focuses on a female friendship, and what happens when the dynamic changes.

I love character driven stories and stories about friendships. This one sounds like it may be more sad than happy, but I am still interesting in seeing how Barnard presents this to us.

What are you waiting on?

  1. Oh I LOVE friendship books-- especially friend break-up/make-up ones for some reason. Or unhealthy friendships and codependent ones. Really just all the messed-up friend books!!! (or happy ones could work too-- but happy isn't as much my thing).

    1. I just always like that peek into friendship dynamics. I fell like this will have some painful moments, but because it Barnard, I think it will turn out fabulous

  11. Ooh a book about friendship! I'm curious. It can be tough to be in a group of 3 friends; it's easy for someone to be left out.

    1. Friendship and family stories are up there with romance for me (which is saying a lot). I think everyone can relate to a friendship story on some level, and therefore, they have a wide appeal.
