It is no secret that I am a fan of Uncle Rick's work, given that I have written numerous glowing reviews for his work, and The Hidden Oracle is no exception to my love for his books.

The Hidden Oracle follows Apollo (that's right, the actual Greek god Apollo) as he is cast down from Olympus and stripped of his godly powers. Now an awkward, powerless mortal, Apollo must follow the whims of young demigod Meg in order to appease Zeus and restore his godly powers.

Diving into a Rick Riordan book is always so exciting, especially when it's in the Percy Jackson world. When I started reading The Hidden Oracle, it felt like being reunited with old friends. Characters would be referenced with descriptors and I'd get excited like !!!!! IT'S PERCY JACKSON!!!!! YAYAYAYAY!!!!! It was so great to see what the Heroes of Olympus gang was up to now, and the book promised even more cameos throughout the rest of the series.

Apollo's character was absolutely hilarious. I knew when I saw that each chapter started with a haiku that it was going to be a really fun book, but Apollo's sense of humor was thoroughly entertaining in a different way from Percy Jackson and gang or Magnus Chase - being a god, he had a pretty big ego, so a lot of the humor played off of him getting knocked off his high horse.

In terms of the main supporting characters, I was thrilled to see that Nico was back in this book. I've always been a fan of Nico even though he wasn't present very often, so it was fun to see what he was up to now. Meg was also a great character, being a spitfire character who constantly challenged Apollo.

As with all of Uncle Rick's books, The Hidden Oracle was packed with action, adventure, humor, and a lot of heart. I thoroughly enjoyed this new angle into the world of Greek demigods, and I am so unbelievably excited by where the ending set up for the next book to go. This series is definitely going to be a must read for all Percy Jackson fans, and I can't wait to see what happens next!
