Can't Wait Wednesday: Sam & Ilsa's Last Hurrah - David Levithan & Rachel Cohn

Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Tressa at Wishful Endings that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

This week I can't wait for Sam & Ilsa's Last Hurrah!

Sam & Ilsa's Last Hurrah
Rachel Cohn, David Levithan
Series: n/a
Release Date: April 10, 2018
Publisher: Knopf Books for Young Readers
Waited on by: Sam
The New York Times Bestselling duo behind Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist and The Twelve Days of Dash & Lily return with twins out to throw the party of a lifetime--or at least the best party of high school!

Siblings Sam and Ilsa Kehlmann have spent most of their high school years throwing parties for their friends--and now they've prepared their final blowout, just before graduation.

The rules are simple: each twin gets to invite three guests, and the other twin doesn't know who's coming until the partiers show up at the door. With Sam and Ilsa, the sibling revelry is always tempered with a large dose of sibling rivalry, and tonight is no exception.

One night. One apartment. Eight people. What could possibly go wrong? Oh, we all know the answer is plenty. But plenty also goes right, as well...in rather surprising ways.
I don't remember which blog had featured this book, but I was beyond excited when I saw it. I have mentioned it before, in fact, I mentioned it yesterday in my TTT post, that I love Levithan-Cohn co-writes. Their books make me happy, and I will always want to read them all.

This one sounds like it will be another great addition to their body of work for the following reasons:
  • I love sibling story and to make this even better, they're twins.
  • Wait, they are twins and there is a little rivalry between them. Delicious!
  • They are planning their final high school hurrah, and those end of an era stories are usually fun.
  • They have rules, which only means lots of stuff will go wrong, and things going wrong = hijinks. You know who loves hijinks? This girl.
  • And I want to know what goes right
All that and a super fun cover. I think this will be a winner for me.

What are you waiting on?

    1. Yes! They wrote both the Dash and Lily books. I liked the Book of Dares better then Twelve days, because it was more light hearted, but both were good.

    1. The cover eludes to fun and twins can be really fun if done right. Fingers crossed, it lives up to my expectations.

    1. Sibling rivalry can be so much fun or painful, but I trust it will go the fun route here.

  8. I haven't read Cohn or Levithan (well I read a LEvithan short story in an anthology, but not sure that counts) but they sound like a good team, and Cohn's books have caught my eye. This one looks nice. and hijinks are good!!

    1. I have read a bunch of their co-writes and a several of Levithan's books, but I have yet to read one of Cohn's solo efforts. I will say, they are a great team.

  17. A new Levithan-Cohn collab? Yes, please! I really enjoyed Nick & Norah’s Infinite Playlist and Naomi & Ely’s No Kiss List (Dash & Lily was just okay for me) so I’m excited to see something new from them.

  18. Oh, this sounds absolutely DELIGHTFUL!! Just reading the plot synopsis makes me want to go back to high school and do it all over again! Lol. Except that THIS time I would make SURE to go to a COED high school, instead of an all-girl school, and thus, I would have MORE FUN!! LOL. :) :)

That cover is so GREAT, too!! Makes me want to jump right into the book!! AWESOME PICK!!! Heading over to Goodreads to add this one!!

Thanks for sharing!! Also, thanks for commenting on my CWW post!! <3 :)

    1. Co-ed high schools are overrated. I was supposed to go to an all-girls school, but we moved before I went to HS, and the public school in my town was good. The cover is awesome and I think the story will live up to that cover.
